Bowls&BoxesEtc.
In the last few months I have had a number of requests for treasure boxes, mostly for children.
It is a bowl with a lid. I have made them for children who want to store their treasures.
In many cases it has been grand parents giving the boxes as presents to their grand children.
But doesn't everyone, young and old need a treasure box? Here are some examples:
I have made treasure boxes in a variety of sizes, depending on what treasures and how much needs to be stored.
So they are made to request. The tallest so far is 25 cm and the widest 35 cm. Smaller ones started at 15 cm by 15 cm.
Treasure boxes can be made from three different types of wood, e.g. ash for the bowl, cherry for the lid and acacia for the knob on top of the lid.
Sapele, maple and yew made a particularly pleasing combination.
The treasure boxes are usually finished in a shellac lacquer which is food safe and hard wearing. They can be polished.
Prices range between £25 to £45 depending on size and complexity.
